‘OPENINGS’
EXHIBITION PANELS

‘Openings’ are independent
wall pieces, designed as exhibition panels.
They are composed of two sheets of transparent
glass, one mouth-blown and one float glass, which are acid-etched,
sandblasted and silver stained.
Alignment of visual elements shifts as
the viewer moves, creating a kinetic experience. ‘Silvering’
of the silver stain creates a patina on the surface of the glass
which changes transparent gold areas to opaque silver/turquoise
with changing angle of view.
Sizes are either 2’ x 2” or
2’ x 2’6”. The panels may be displayed as individual
pieces or in sets of two to four panels. They may also be seen
as prototypes for a multiple unit screen, composed with tension
wire system hanging elements.
The pieces are suitable for wall-mounting
or window-mounting, and produce exquisite light projections either
onto the wall when front-lit or into the space when backlit.
Included in this set is a competition entry
design for a window in Augsburg Cathedral. |
